Job summary

Ziply Fiber is seeking a Senior Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer to lead design validation, budgeting, and schedule management for fiber OSP projects. You will oversee OSP infrastructure, ensure constructability and scalable solutions, and act as SME acrossengineering for cable sizing, counts, records, and ROW/easement permitting.

This role serves as a SPOC with internal departments and vendor resources. You will coordinate with utilities, manage the full permitting lifecycle, maintain records, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience is required.
• Minimum five years of OSP engineering or outside plant experience.
• Minimum five years in telecom outside plant project management and/or fiber design.
• Three years’ experience in ROW, private easement and permitting with local/state/federal entities.
• Knowledge of outside plant design, cable count layout and capacities.

Responsibilities

• Proactive review of outside plant facilities to determine upgrades and enhancements.
• Produce and/or review high-level and low-level design documents.
• Coordinate with peers and departments for proper planning.
• Attend preconstruction meetings for project designs.
• Prepare cost estimates based on project needs.
• Review vendor designs and perform QA/QC audits.
• Maintain and update cable records as-built documents.
• Coordinate with state/county/city/national entities for planned projects.
• Manage full permitting lifecycle (State, DNR, City, County, Townships).
• Maintain ROWs and easements records and releases.
• Support leadership with reporting and escalations.
• Train and mentor internal teams and external vendors.
