Job summary

Ziply Fiber seeks a Manager, Outside Plant Engineering to lead OSP engineering activities performed by Ziply staff and vendors, ensuring quality and on-time completion within budget. This role requires collaboration across Construction and other departments.

The candidate will guide staffing, cost estimates, and engineering work orders while complying with standards and regulatory requirements. A strong leadership and communication skillset is essential.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six years of outside plant (OSP) experience, including quoting, permitting and other pre-construction activities.
• Developed leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead others.
• Experience using fiber optic network documentation tools.
• Advanced understanding of the permitting process for railroad, DOT, cities, counties, and pole owners.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.
• Must complete a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead an Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering team and provide leadership and mentorship through coaching, feedback, development goals and performance management.
• Accountable for staffing, schedules and compliance with OSP engineering and construction activities, including safety and quality of work.
• Oversee production of all engineering work orders within an assigned geographic area and ensure compliance with standards, NESC, and municipal requirements; confirm cost estimates and release orders timely.
• Manage Engineering process and documentation through project completion.
