Job summary

Ziply Fiber is seeking a Manager, Outside Plant Engineering to lead the OSP Engineering team, ensuring quality, on-time delivery, and budget adherence across projects. The role requires collaboration with construction, vendors, and multiple internal departments.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in OSP, strong leadership, and experience with fiber optic documentation and permitting. Location-based travel may be required; pre-employment screening is included.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight (8) years of outside plant (OSP) experience, including quoting, permitting and other pre-construction activities.
• Developed leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead others.
• Experience using fiber optic network documentation tools.
• Advanced understanding of the permitting process for railroad, DOT, cities, counties, and pole owners.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.
• Must complete a pre-employment drug screening.
• Experience managing capital budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead an Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering team and provide leadership and mentorship through coaching, feedback, development goals and performance management.
• Oversee production of engineering work orders within an assigned geographic area.
• Manage Engineering process and documentation through project completion.
• Identify permitting authorities and oversee permit applications.
• Develop, coordinate, and execute project schedules with contractors, property management, customers, vendors, internal stakeholders, municipalities, and government agencies.
• Coordinate and participate in internal meetings to ensure communication and alignment of initiatives.
• Coordinate with State, local municipalities, and utilities.
• Verify contractor’s invoices for accuracy and process to AP in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as required to support the business.
• Assist in capital budgeting processes.
