Job summary

Ziply Fiber is seeking a Manager, Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering to lead a team and drive OSP design, permitting, and construction activities. You will manage staff and contractors, ensure adherence to standards, and coordinate with municipalities, utilities, and internal stakeholders to meet project milestones.

The role requires extensive OSP experience, strong leadership, and the ability to oversee budgets, schedules, and quality. Travel is occasional, and sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight (8) years of outside plant (OSP) experience, including quoting, permitting and other pre-construction activities.
• Developed leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead others.
• Experience using fiber optic network documentation tools.
• Advanced understanding of permitting processes for railroad, DOT, cities, counties, and pole owners.
• Must complete a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead an Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering team and provide leadership and mentorship through coaching, feedback, development goals and performance management.
• Oversee production of all engineering work orders within an assigned geographic area and ensure compliance with standards, NESC, permits, and budgets.
• Coordinate with state/local municipalities and utilities, and verify contractor invoices for accuracy.
• Develop and execute project schedules with contractors, property management, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
