Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Orthopaedics department seeks a Patient Services Associate to support front-line patient care and operations at Pennsylvania Hospital. Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years medical office experience, or 4 years of customer service experience.
• Advanced degree may be considered in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient arrival and departure activities; manage schedules and appointments.
• Handle patient calls and inquiries; update insurance and billing information.
• Perform point-of-service activities including collecting copays and obtaining referrals/authorizations.
• Update appointment status in EMR and communicate wait times to patients.
• Coordinate with practice/department protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
