Stanford Health Care in Pleasanton is seeking a Patient Administrative Specialist (PAS) for our Orthopaedic Surgery team. This role emphasizes surgery scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and coordinating complex workflows in a fast-paced outpatient clinic.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in surgery scheduling, with orthopedic scheduling experience preferred, and familiarity with Epic or similar EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of surgery scheduling experience in a healthcare environment.
• Orthopedic surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred.
• Experience coordinating complex surgical workflows (pre-op and possibly post-op).
• Knowledge of insurance verification, authorization processes, and surgical case preparation.
• Experience with Epic or comparable electronic health record system.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients, complete registration check-in/out, verify insurance, and assist with questions about appointments and billing.
• Track and manage referrals; schedule appointments in a timely manner.
• Handle inbound/outbound calls and messages; maintain documentation and databases.
• Coordinate with providers, clinics, and external facilities to ensure smooth scheduling.
• Demonstrate professional communication and deliver an exceptional patient experience.
• Support multiple providers and adapt to changing priorities within the surgical pathway.
