Next Generation Orthopedic and Spine Institute in Spring, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler & Pre-Authorization Specialist to support timely patient care. You will coordinate procedures, obtain authorizations, and verify insurance benefits while maintaining accurate EMR records.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in scheduling and prior authorizations, with strong communication skills and familiarity with orthopedic/spine procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in surgical scheduling and/or insurance prior authorizations.
• Strong knowledge of orthopedic and/or spine procedures and terminology preferred.
• Experience with major insurance carriers and authorization portals.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and medical scheduling software.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and provider interactions.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with hospitals, centers, and teams.
• Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications from insurance carriers.
• Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to procedures.
• Communicate surgery details and pre-op instructions to patients and staff.
• Maintain accurate scheduling records in the EMR system.
• Follow up on pending authorizations and appeals to minimize delays.
• Collaborate with surgeons, medical staff, and billing on documentation and coding.
