The role emphasizes strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment. Experience in healthcare scheduling is preferred and knowledge of HIPAA is important.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in healthcare scheduling preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulations is a plus.
• Certifications in medical administration or scheduling software are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate patient appointment schedules, including booking, rescheduling, and cancellations.
• Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and eligibility prior to scheduling.
• Maintain accurate records of patient interactions in EMR or scheduling system.
• Communicate with clinical staff to ensure appointment availability and resolve conflicts.
• Provide courteous and efficient assistance to patients regarding appointments and policies.
• Monitor reminders and follow-ups to confirm visits.
• Uphold HIPAA confidentiality in handling patient information.
