Qualifications

• 1–2 years of surgical scheduling and/or prior authorizations experience.
• Familiarity with orthopedic/spine procedures terminology preferred.
• Experience with major insurance carriers and authorization portals.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
• Excellent communication and patient interactions.
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with hospitals and surgical teams.
• Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications from insurers.
• Verify patients' insurance benefits and eligibility before procedures.
• Communicate surgery details and pre-op instructions to patients and staff.
• Maintain accurate scheduling records in the EMR system.
• Follow up on pending authorizations and appeals to minimize delays.
• Collaborate with surgeons, assistants, and billing to ensure documentation.
