Job summary

NYU Langone Health seeks a Surgical Technologist for LOC 38th St 10th FL OR-Day Shift (37.5 Hours). The role supports scrub activities across all surgical procedures under RN direction and partners with physicians to optimize procedural flow.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS, NBSTSA CST certification, and preferred experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. NYU Langone Health offers extensive benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS required (American Heart Association).
• Must be a graduate of an NBSTSA accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification required upon hire.
• One–Two years experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a large complex OR.
• NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate preferred.
• Recent OR orthopedic sports medicine total joint experience preferred.
• Must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician.
• Assist in procedural areas under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
• Provide instrument and equipment care and maintenance.
• Serve as a secondary circulator under RN supervision.
• Report unexpected events and outcomes to RN staff in a timely manner.
• Provide on-call coverage where applicable.
