Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital seeks a Surgical Technologist for the Evening shift in Orthopedic Surgery. The role includes scrubbing on all procedures, assisting physicians, and supporting the RN Circulator in the OR.

Must have a high school diploma, BLS, NBSTSA CST program completion, and certification upon hire. One–two years of CST experience is preferred, with potential ON-CALL coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA Surgical Technologist program; certification upon hire.
• 1–2 years CST experience preferred; NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the OR and assist the physician.
• Assist as a secondary circulator under the supervision of the RN Circulator.
• Maintain and handle instruments and equipment; ensure care and maintenance.
• Report unexpected events to RN staff/leadership in a timely fashion.
• Provide on-call coverage where applicable.
