Training precedes potential remote work. Qualified candidates will have an associate degree (or higher), CPC or CCS certification, and at least 1 year of coding experience with familiarity in EHR/EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; HS diploma or GED required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent certification required.
• 1+ years of experience as a coder or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of an electronic health record (EHR/EMR) and coding software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for orthopedic services.
• Audit physician documentation and surgical reports for accurate coding.
• Ensure coding practices meet federal/state guidelines and payer requirements.
• Collaborate with billing to resolve coding and reimbursement issues.
