Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Professional CPC coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC credentialing maintained annually.
• Medium level of Medicare guidelines knowledge and modifier application.
• Experience with Epic and dealing with denials.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes per documentation and guidelines.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely coding of records.
• Generates coding queries for clarification when needed.
• Keeps up to date with coding changes and updates.
• Manages workload efficiently under deadlines with minimal supervision.
