Job summary

Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Los Angeles seeks a Patient Services Coordinator to greet and assist patients at check-in, collect co-pays, and input data into the patient system for registration. You will verify patient demographics and insurance details, and support billing with daily deposits and cash handling.

The role requires strong customer service, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at a busy front desk in a busy orthopedic setting.

Responsibilities

• Report to work as scheduled.
• Adhere to SCOI's punctuality and attendance policy.
• Greet and assist patients and visitors; maintain patient sign in sheet and appointment list; continually monitor and ensure that all patients are checked in and accounted for.
• Provide necessary paperwork to patient upon check-in; review completed forms for accuracy and signature.
• Accurately verify and register patient demographic and insurance information into patient's account; verify and input any accompanying referrals and authorizations received from patient into appropriate case.
• Collect patient balances and co-pays as needed at time of service; enter payments for the corresponding ticket into the Billing module.
• Balance all payments received with your Deposit Slip for your batch at the end of the day.
• Deposit all Over-the-Counter collections daily according to Deposit Policy & Procedure.
• Process all no shows, cancellations and reschedules; forward work comp no show fee tickets to Patient Billing Coordinator for posting; route charts to medical records for re-filing.
