Illinois Bone & Joint Institute is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to manage all aspects of surgical scheduling, pre-certification, and verification of benefits. The role coordinates referrals for patient appointments and procedures with physicians, insurers, and hospital partners.

Responsibilities include arranging surgery dates, pre-admission testing, and communicating requirements to patients. A high school diploma or GED and one year of medical office experience are required; an associates

Qualifications

• One year medical office experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the scheduling of surgical procedures for assigned surgeons in the practice and for all surgeons as needed.
• Discuss and coordinate surgical dates with patient/family in line with physician schedule.
• Provide patients with required information including Cardiac and Medical clearance.
• Schedule pre-operative and post-operative appointments including pre-admission testing.
• Complete pre-surgical history and physicals and post-op visits.
• Prepare surgical documentation with ICD-10 and CPT codes as required.
• Maintain and update the physician's surgical calendar.
