Job summary

OrthoIllinois, a Division of Orthomidwest, is seeking a Surgical Coordination Specialist to support surgeons through comprehensive coordination of procedures, precertifications, scheduling, and appeals management across ASC, clinic, and hospital settings.

You will ensure CPT/ICD-10 accuracy, manage payer communications and authorizations, and maintain precise EMR documentation while coordinating with anesthesia, schedulers, and staff to keep cases on schedule and patient-centered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of surgery scheduling experience.
• Proficient in ECW, HST, Availity, CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor's preferred.
• Experience with prior authorizations and appeals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgeries across ASC, clinic, and hospital settings.
• Perform precertification and prior authorizations via payer portals.
• Prepare and submit appeals and gather medical necessity documentation.
• Maintain complete EMR documentation and track authorization status.
• Monitor scheduling accuracy and minimize cancellations.
