Responsibilities

• Provide customer service for patients, families and scheduling departments; resolve room availability conflicts.
• Receive physician orders and complete patient registration; obtain authorizations or referrals.
• Schedule and re-schedule patients; confirm appointments and special instructions.
• Answer incoming calls; take messages; document in patient records; update demographics.
• Assist physicians in examination rooms and support front office with phones, messages, refills and related duties.
• May have supervisory accountability and/or provide direction to support staff.
• Ensure efficient scheduling workflow and maintain outstanding customer relations.
