Job summary

BlazerJobs, Inc. is seeking a certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support a middle school student. The contract position involves two 30-minute sessions per week, totaling 1 hour weekly, to help the student navigate hallways and classrooms with independence.

You will collaborate with school staff and families, document progress, and adapt objectives within the IEP. This part-time role offers flexibility and meaningful impact in an educational setting through May 2027.

Qualifications

• Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) certification required.

Job description

Make a meaningful impact in a students life by providing specialized support as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist. This unique, contract-based opportunity places you at a middle school where your expertise will guide a single student, helping them navigate their environment with confidence and independence.

Your expertise as a certified OMS will be instrumental during two sessions per week, each lasting 30 minutes. This highly focused, one-on-one setting allows you to tailor each lesson to the students needs while collaborating within an educational team. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of May 2027.

• Current COMS (Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist) certification is required
• Experience working in school settings preferred
