Job summary

Specialized Assessment & Consulting seeks a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS / O&M Specialist) for a part-time, in-person role at a Houston area school. The position is hybrid: therapy and evaluations occur in person, with some reports home-based.

Caseload is 1–2 days direct services per month plus one monthly consultation with staff. Rate starts at $45/hr with benefits including insurance, CEU membership, development reimbursements, travel stipends, and a strong mentorship

Qualifications

• Certification from ACVREP
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a COMS in a school setting

Responsibilities

• Attend ARD meetings and consult with school staff
• Provide orientation and mobility services per caseload
• Complete evaluations and in-person therapy with a hybrid work model

Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS / O&M Specialist) job for apart time position providing services to qualifying students with visual impairments, attending ARD meetings, and consulting with school staff.

This job is in person at a school in Houston, TX (77012). This is a hybrid position, therapy and evaluations are completed in person and reports can be done at home. The caseload includes 1 or 2 times a month direct services and 1 time a month consultation.

O&M Specialist rates start at $45/hr

Qualifications for O&M Specialist / COMS positions

• Certification from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP)
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a CertifiedO&M Specialist / COMS in a school setting
