Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Customer Service Representative in California to accurately fulfill customer orders and manage incoming calls under close supervision. You will respond to product inquiries, provide quotes, and enter orders, while building relationships to drive repeat business.

The role also involves inventory awareness, placing orders to maintain stock, selecting cost-effective shipping, and collaborating with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Reliability, organization, and attention to detail required.
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening.
• Ability to multi-task and time management skills required.
• Moderate computer skills, including information processing, email, and using business systems to find products online.
• Product knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to basic customer inquiries regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
• Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in (counter sales).
• Influences gross profit by negotiating sale and purchase prices within parameters.
• May adjust non-contract customer pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit.
• Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business by relating to the customer and driving process improvements.
• Orders items to ensure inventory levels are maintained for customers.
• Determines the most cost-effective shipping method for customer orders.
• Partners with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Expedites backorders.
• May pull inventory and prepare orders for shipment to customers.
• May handle customer returns.
