Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health in Highlands Ranch, CO is seeking an onsite Surgical Tech to facilitate safe and efficient operating room procedures. The role offers a flex shift with pay between $27.61 and $41.41 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include preparing the operating suite, assisting with patient positioning and draping, passing instruments, and handling specimens for lab delivery.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED or Military trained.
• Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration plus BLS.
• Minimum Experience: 6 months Surgical Tech experience or grad of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
• BLS certification per American Heart Association or Red Cross, valid through start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipmentand supplies.
• Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passesinstruments to physician during surgery. Continuallyaccounts for number andlocationof instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
