Job summary

UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital in Colorado is seeking a per diem Surgical Tech to support the Operating Room. The role involves preparing the sterile field, passing instruments to the surgeon, and maintaining equipment and supplies throughout procedures.

Minimum 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduation from an accredited program is required, along with a State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration and BLS.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED or Military trained.
• Required Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. BLS Healthcare Provider.
• Minimum Experience: 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients; ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and tracks instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and uses critical thinking to take appropriate action.
