Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health in Aurora, CO is seeking a Surgical Tech to facilitate the safe, efficient performance of surgical procedures in the operating room.

You will prepare the operating suite, assist with patient positioning, pass instruments, and ensure correct counting of instruments and specimens, working under limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, day-shift, onsite role with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED or Military trained.
• Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
• Minimum Experience: 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
• BLS/CPR card must be valid through sixty days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order; assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to the physician during surgery and tracks instruments and supplies at all times.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
