Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. You will prepare the sterile field, anticipate needs, and assist with instrument handling and turnover to optimize OR efficiency.

The role requires CST certification and BLS, with 0–2 years of OR experience, and candidates will work in a fast-paced surgical environment dedicated to patient safety and excellent care.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years operating room surgical technician experience required.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist required.
• BLS - Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and ensure instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready for procedures.
• Maintain sterile field throughout surgery using aseptic techniques.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments promptly during procedures.
• Inspect and handle instruments; manage sterilization and turnover per hospital policy.
• Document counts of sponges, needles, and instruments for patient safety.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN guidance.
