Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the ACC 21 OR-Day Shift (37.5 Hours) to scrub on all surgical procedures and assist the physician under a licensed nurse's direction. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS (American Heart Association) required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
• Anticipate and gather needed supplies/equipment prior to procedures and coordinate with the RN Circulator.
• Assist as a secondary circulator under RN supervision and ensure proper instrument handling and aseptic technique.
• Report unexpected events/outcomes to RN staff/leadership in a timely manner (count, specimen, aseptic breaks).
• Provide on-call coverage where applicable.
