Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking an experienced hospital aide to coordinate patient transport throughout admission, transfer, and discharge, and to assist with bed preparation for admissions and emergencies.

You will support infection control practices, maintain patient confidentiality, and help position patients in the OR under the guidance of nurses and physicians. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• Preferred knowledge of Surgery Procedures.
• Minimum of 6 months of recent general medical experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Basic knowledge of good body mechanics.
• Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of team members.
• BLS required.
• Commitment to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct per policies and training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transport of patients during admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Assist in bed preparation for admissions, transfers, and emergencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and respond to questions promptly.
• Adhere to patient safety guidelines and infection control protocols, PPE usage, and decontamination procedures.
• Assist with positioning and transfer of patients in the OR under direction of RN and/or MD.
