Job summary

St. Peter's Health in Montana seeks a patient transport and OR support technician for evening shifts. You will assist with infection prevention, safe patient transfer to and in the OR and PACU, and room turnover to uphold infection prevention standards.

Ideal candidates have healthcare exposure, can use Vocera and a computer, and possess strong English reading/writing skills, with CPR certification within 6 months of hire.

JOB SUMMARY

(overview of job): This position provides support for the OR team including but not limited to: infection prevention monitoring and cleaning implementation, safe patient transfer and transport of patients to, from and in the OR and PACU, assists with positioning patient, obtaining and setting up equipment, assisting with room turnovers to ensure infection prevention standards are met, specimen delivery, and other duties as assigned. Must be conscientious about surgical processes, following directions, infection prevention/cleanliness and patient safety.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

Preferred six months in health care setting and /or working with patients. The ability to safely and ergonomically move equipment, patients and supplies. The ability to use a telephone, Vocera, and computer keyboard. Proficiency in reading and writing English.

EDUCATION

High school graduate or GED preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY

BLS (Basic Life Support) within 6 months of hire

• Assists in maintaining a safe and orderly work environment
• Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control and universal precaution.
• Is certified in CPR and able to perform if necessary
• Carries Vocera to maintain contact at all times and responds to calls or pages in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintains inventory by stocking areas as assigned.
