Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a dedicated team member to assist direct patient care providers with safe handling of patients and equipment. You will promote a safe work environment, provide training on lift techniques, and help manage equipment and supplies across Orange and Irvine campuses.

The role requires sixth months in a healthcare setting or relevant training, strong English communication, and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Minimum six months experience in a healthcare environment or related training.
• Demonstrates effective therapeutic communication.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (AHA).
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.

Responsibilities

• Assist direct patient care providers with safe patient handling (lifting, positioning, transferring, transporting).
• Promote safe patient handling and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Provide education and training on lift techniques and transfer equipment.
• Track, deliver, clean, and perform basic repair of equipment and supplies.
