Job summary

Visionworks of America, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for on-site or remote exams, performing pre-exam tests, and guiding them through the process.

The role acts as a liaison between patients and optometrists and starts the patient journey. This part-time position requires at least one year of related experience, an optical or healthcare background, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and gather/submit pertinent patient information into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations; document results in EMR.
• Assist remote patients through remote eye exam processes and document results in EMR.
• After exam, transition the patient to a retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Maintain patient records and assist with insurance preauthorization and scheduling.
