Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite or remote examinations, performing pre-exam tests, and explaining each step of the process. The role liaises between patients and Optometrists, guiding the patient journey from check-in to post-exam transitions.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of related experience and a strong healthcare/optical background, with basic professionalism in medical office

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, gather information, and enter data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and explain preliminary tests.
• Support remote eye exams: pre-testing, testing, and document results; initiate video conferencing.
• Coordinate with retail associates to schedule appointments and manage exam books.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and handling.
