Job summary

Indian Health Service seeks a licensed optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care, diagnose and treat ocular diseases, and deliver emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.

This federal role requires a Doctor of Optometry degree, NBEO licensure, and eligibility for state licensure. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized; on-call duties and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
• Current, full, and unrestricted optometry license in the U.S.
• Ability to diagnose and treat ocular diseases and perform primary eye care.
• NBEO passing scores and eligibility for licensure in the appropriate jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ocular examinations and eye care
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe lenses or medications
• Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic eye diseases
• Provide emergency ocular care in various care settings
