Job summary

The Indian Health Service seeks a qualified Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care in federally qualified health settings. You will perform exams, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, and deliver primary eye care to patients in Native communities.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an ACOE-accredited program at the time the degree was obtained.
• Current, full, and unrestricted optometry license in the U.S. (state, DC, PR, or territory).
• NBEO examinations passed.

Responsibilities

• Performs the full range of professional optometric physician duties including exams, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular diseases.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular diseases.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
