Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a licensed optometrist to join our team in the United States. You will perform comprehensive eye care, diagnose and treat ocular diseases, and deliver emergency ocular services in outpatient and inpatient settings. Qualifications include a Doctor of Optometry from an ACOE-accredited program, NBEO exams, and an unrestricted U.S.

license. Residency or prior professional experience at GS-12 level may apply.

Qualifications

• OD degree from an ACOE-accredited program.
• NBEO exams passed and a current, full, unrestricted optometry license.
• U.S. Citizenship and Selective Service registration as required.
• One year residency or one year professional experience at GS-12 level may apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of optometric duties, including examining, diagnosing, and treating diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular diseases and disorders.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
