Job summary

Indian Health Service seeks an optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care, including exams, diagnoses, and treatment, in a federal setting. Responsibilities include emergency ocular care and management of ocular diseases in both outpatient and inpatient contexts.

Required Doctor of Optometry from an ACOS-accredited program, NBEO passing score, and an unrestricted U.S. license. Recruitment incentives may apply; a 6-month service agreement may be required.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an AC0E-accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ocular examinations, diagnose and treat eye diseases.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye diseases.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Deliver primary eye care including exam, diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases.
