Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a licensed Doctor of Optometry to provide full-scope eye care in a federal setting. The clinician will examine, diagnose, and treat diseases of the visual system, and deliver emergency ocular care as needed.

Responsibilities include comprehensive eye examinations, treatment planning, prescribing corrective lenses and medications, and ensuring quality patient care in both outpatient and inpatient contexts. U.S. citizenship and licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
• Must have passing NBEO exams and a current unrestricted license to practice optometry.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and manage diseases of the visual system.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care including diagnosis and treatment of ocular conditions.
• Deliver emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
