Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a licensed optometrist to join our team in providing comprehensive eye care. You will examine, diagnose, and treat diseases of the eye and visual system, and deliver emergency ocular care when needed, in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Qualifications include a Doctor of Optometry degree from an ACoe-accredited program, NBEO success, and a current unrestricted license to practice in the United States.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an AC(O)E-accredited program.
• Current, full, and unrestricted optometry license to practice in a U.S. state, DC, PR, or territory.
• Passing NBEO examinations.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full range of professional optometric duties: exam, diagnose, and treat diseases of the eye and visual system.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular diseases.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
