Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking an optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care and ocular health services in a federal context. Responsibilities include clinical examinations, diagnosing and treating eye diseases, and providing emergency ocular care in various settings. This role requires NBEO licensure and a Doctor of Optometry degree from an ACOE-accredited program.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Optometry from an ACOE-accredited program.
• Licensure: NBEO passing score and current unrestricted optometry license.
• Experience: GS-11/12 level requires residency or 1 year of professional optometry experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs full range of professional optometric duties: exam, diagnose, treat ocular diseases.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases.
• Provides comprehensive primary eye care including examination and treatment.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
