Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements. Training will be provided, and no optical experience is required. Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

You will assist in preparing patients for exams, help maintain flow in the clinic, and ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures while learning pretest equipment and basic vision screenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with basic math skills.
• Personable and patient with patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical experience preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history to prep for the exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures during the visit.
• Learn to operate pretest equipment for visual screenings pre-exam.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other tests.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
