Job summary

MyEyeDr is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements, preparing patients for exams and learning on the job with provided training.

You will assist with patient flow, use pretest equipment, conduct basic screenings, and help create a welcoming, high-quality vision care experience. Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math
• Personable and patient, able to comfort patients during screening
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services
• Collaborative team player delivering the best patient experience
• Training will be provided for the right candidate

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document existing conditions and medical history for the pre-exam
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures they will undergo
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctors and team to deliver seamless patient experience
