Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and educate patients, ensuring a smooth, high‑quality care experience.

You will perform pre‑test procedures, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage appointment scheduling while maintaining accurate patient records and HIPAA compliance. Prior experience with eye care terminology and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patient records/files per HIPAA regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilations, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, etc.).
• Schedule referrals and complete related paperwork as needed.
• Maintain patient records in EHR and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries about medications and treatments.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and clerical duties as required.
