Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists, conducting pre-testing and assisting with diagnostic testing to ensure high-quality patient care on-site in Maryland.

You will handle preliminary evaluations, manage patient records in the EHR, and help schedule referrals while maintaining clear communication with patients and clinicians. This is a full-time role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye care and procedures.
• Industry certifications (CPO/CPOA/CPOT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostics).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post‑exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR following HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation and CPT/billing.
• Help with end‑of‑day wrap‑up and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• May act as a scribe or assist with refractions if needed.
