Job summary

AEG Vision seeks an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, manage appointment schedules, and maintain HIPAA-compliant records.

Responsibilities include patient pre-tests, communication with patients, scheduling referrals, and supporting the practice with end-of-day tasks. On-site, full-time role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-testing procedures alongside Optometrists.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in HIPAA-compliant systems.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• May perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (e.g., OCT).
• Act as a scribe for the Optometrist when needed.
• Engage in contact lens insertion/removal instruction and inventory management.
• End-of-day wrap-up and housekeeping of the practice.
• Provide support across duties as requested by the practice.
