Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high‑quality patient care and education. You will perform pre‑testing, assist with diagnostics, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a smooth patient flow.

You will record findings in EHR, communicate with patients about medications, and may conduct contact lens procedures under supervision, contributing to a precise, efficient practice.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for efficiency and quality.
• Record medical findings in EHR and assist with related clerical duties.
• Conduct lens fitting tasks and contact lens management as needed.
• Support scribing for the Optometrist and other duties as requested.
