Job summary

MyEyeDr in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, performing preliminary testing, and documenting medical history.

No optical experience required; training will be provided. You will learn to operate pretest equipment, assist during exams, and collaborate with the care team to ensure a smooth, patient-centered experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and compassion with patients.
• Willingness to learn optical terminology and procedures.
• Prior healthcare/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrist with patient prep and preliminary testing.
• Document patient history and conditions accurately.
• Support smooth patient flow and comfort during visits.
• Learn and operate pretest equipment for vision screenings.
• Provide contact lens training as applicable.
