Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Chapel Hill is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, performing preliminary testing and measurements, and ensuring a smooth flow during appointments.

No prior optical experience required; training will be provided. You will learn to use pretest equipment and assist with contact lens training, contributing to a best-in-class patient experience in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personable and patient to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
