Job summary

AEG Vision is hiring an Optometric Technician to support doctors and deliver high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic tests, and help manage appointments for a smooth patient experience.

The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and strict HIPAA compliance. You will handle records, respond to inquiries, and contribute to efficient daily operations within the practice.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co‑workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of patient care and education alongside Optometrists.
• Conduct pre-testing procedures and assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in HIPAA-compliant systems.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications, treatments, and follow‑ups.
• May perform diagnostic testing using equipment (e.g., OCT, Visual Field).
• Assist with clerical tasks and billing related to medical documentation.
• Support end-of-day wrap-up and office organization.
• May act as a scribe or assist with refractions as needed.
