Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician in Plano, TX to support Optometrists in pre-testing, scheduling, and patient education. You will perform preliminary exams, assist with tests like OCT and visual fields, and help maintain precise patient records in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will be responsible for coordinating referrals, handling routine paperwork, and ensuring patients experience efficient, high-quality care from check-in to check-out.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient PC skills including MS Office and Windows.
• Strong verbal and written communication with patients and staff.
• HIPAA-compliant documentation experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam.
• Schedule referrals and manage paperwork with Ophthalmologists and specialists.
• Maintain patient records in HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Address patient inquiries and coordinate with Optometrist.
• Operate diagnostic equipment as trained (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry).
• End-of-day schedule wrap-up and office cleanliness.
