Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists by performing pre-testing, assisting with diagnostic testing, and managing patient flow for a high-quality experience. You will handle scheduling, documentation, and communication with patients throughout their visit.

Responsibilities include performing preliminary evaluations, recording findings in EHR, and assisting with post-exam tasks and referrals, all while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Industry certification: CPO, CPOA, CPOT.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exam (e.g., dilation, topicals, diagnostic tests) and assist with specialty testing.
• Maintain and document patient records in EHR in compliance with HIPAA.
• Schedule referral appointments and manage the optometrist's calendar for efficient patient flow.
• Support clerical duties and verify CPT codes and post-op billings.
