Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support clinicians and enhance patient experiences. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient visits.

You will maintain accurate patient records, communicate clearly with patients, and help coordinate referrals and post-exam activities. A collaborative, patient‑centered approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Support optometrists with patient care and education throughout visits.
• Conduct pre-testing procedures and assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Manage doctor appointment schedules and post-exam tasks.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Handle referrals scheduling and related paperwork.
• Assist with contact lens insertions, removals, and inventory.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization via confirmations and recalls.
• Support clerical duties and act as scribe if needed.
