Job summary

MyEyeDr. is hiring an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, performing preliminary testing, and learning to use pretest equipment for visual screenings.

No optical experience is required; we provide training and tools to help you learn the industry. You will help ensure a smooth patient experience and collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality vision care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history to prep for the Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures encountered during visits.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings before the doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
